1. How does Routefire work?

Routefire uses sophisticated automated trading technology to get better prices and lower fees on crypto orders, whether for an individual account or an institutional allocator.

Routefire connects directly to your exchange accounts — including all popular exchanges, like Coinbase Pro and Binance — and runs specialized algorithms for optimally fulfilling a crypto order. Routefire algorithms are able to dramatically reduce fees, generate price improvement, avoid market impact, and avoid tipping off the market to your existence and intentions.

2. There are a few different products. Which product is right for me?

Routefire Classic is our core offering, and is used primarily by trading professionals — either by hand or by API — to execute large orders.

Routefire Convert, on the other hand, makes it easy to create conversion pipelines for payments or repeat trading. This method is suggested if a.) you are using Routefire for payments or transfers, or b.) if you expect to be entering similar orders all the time (for example, a miner always trading GRIN into USDC).

3. Which venues (exchanges and desks) do you support?

4. Which pairs do you support?

We support trading in the majority of the top 50 cryptocurrencies (by market cap) with markets in fiat (USD, EUR, GBP) as well as crypto (BTC, ETC, USDT, USDC, DAI, etc.). If a pair is missing that a customer wants, we are always happy to add it.

5. What are API keys?

API keys are used to let Routefire place trades in your exchange accounts on your behalf, and help the exchange identify your account when Routefire accesses it. They are typically comprised of a "key" and a "secret," both of which are long strings of random characters. Sometimes there is also a third string called a "passphrase," as with CB Pro, or similar. Note that when you provide an API key to Routefire, you also can revoke it at any time from the exchange settings screen, so there is nothing permanent about them.

6. How do I add API keys?

Simply go to the "Venue Settings" tab at the top of the main trade entry screen.

7. Can I set up more than one account on Routefire?

Yes, absolutely! Simply create the new account using the same referral key as the previous account, and we will link the accounts together for billing and reporting purposes.

Trading and Algorithms

1. Will I incur exchange fees?

You will incur exchange fees to the extent there are any! The goal of many Routefire algorithms is to mitigate exchange fees, and we typically find they are reduced to a negligible amount (92% of trades incur < 0.1% in fees).

2. How many trades can I put through at a time? What is the maximum volume of a trade I can put through?

There is no limit to what you can do with Routefire.

3. What is the minimum trade volume I can put through?

There are minima to avoid market manipulation. These are approximaly 0.02 BTC in size — specific values can be provided upon request.

4. How are you able to avoid exchange fees? (Is there some catch?)

Our smart routing technology and execution algorithms are tuned to avoid fees whenever possible, and allow you to specify your preference for how to balance fee aversion and a strong time guarantee. It's not magic, and there's no catch — just a touch of mathematics and years of tribal knowledge in algorithmic trading.

Custody and Security

1. Do you offer a wallet solution?

We currently do not, except in the case of Grin.

2. Do you have two-factor authentication?

Yes, click here to set up two-factor authentication using the OTP app of your choice (we suggest Google Authenticator).

Note to API users: API keys to bypass a 2FA-protected account can only be generated via direct interaction with our support team. Please email us at hello@routefire.io if you'd like to obtain 2FA-bypass API keys.

3. Do you take custody of any of my assets?

Routefire Classic is a 100% custody-free solution — your funds always remain entirely in your accounts.

Routefire Convert uses a system of temporary wallets to consolidate and dispatch cryptocurrencies, so it is funded on a per-trade basis. With this model, the funds are either in your wallet, in transit, or currently being converted.

1. What kind of service comes with Routefire?

Routefire users are given 24/7 access to our core HQ team via Telegram, private Slack channel, Google Hangout, or telephone. Whether you need assistance with configuring trades or managing your account or would like to speak to an engineer regarding integration, someone will be there to help.

2. Do you provide technical services?

Yes, we provide consulting services to help firms build out trading infrastructure according to their bespoke needs and requirements.

3. Can you add venue X or coin A?

Yes, please contact us with your requirements and we will have the necessary changes made.

4. I have a feature idea! Can you add it?
